documenting a world gone mad

information

Drew Vaughn is a life photographer residing in California. His work captures a hopeless perspective of the human condition as it assimilates with the rapidly evolving digital age and dissolves its cultural identity.

Influenced by Japanese snapshot photography of the 1970’s and 1980’s and the punk subculture, Drew’s vision is to document the duality of “a simpler time” with the bleak presence of modern technology and consumerism.

Life, once filled with with vivid memories painted by emotion has been subliminally replaced with expendable content. Purpose, creativity and passion have been euthanized by invisible algorithms.

As the memory of what life once was continues to fade, Drew’s images are intended to document his struggle to answer the question; Can we call this life?
